Homework Club offers students in grades 1-6 a chance to work on schoolwork in a relaxed, supportive space with the help of older students and mentors. Snacks will be provided, as well as fun activities to participate in with friends, once homework is done!
Join us on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays throughout the school year. From October to the end of May, we will also be extending our hours and bringing back our popular Shiluv enrichment programs.
Shiluv Learning Programs
We’re bringing back our Shiluv programs with no additional charge to participate! Beginning in October, children registered for Homework Club will be invited to join us for:
- Art on Mondays
- Dance on Tuesdays
- STEM on Wednesdays
- Martial Arts on Thursdays

Pricing
There is no charge for Beth Tzedec congregants to participate in Homework Club. Guest rates will vary based on the number of sessions for which your child is registered.
Team Members
Hanit Jacobs hails from Israel and has become deeply involved in Calgary Jewish life at every level since moving here. She has served as a teacher, board member, volunteer, and more, bringing her passion for children, helping, learning, and catering to the needs of others into everything she does. Hanit looks forward to spending this year with your wonderful children and making a positive impact in their lives.
Holly Shumate is a recent addition to the Beth Tzedec family, and she has quickly become an active participant in all aspects of the community. As our Shamash, Holly diligently reminds us of important dates and encourages participation in minyanim. She is also a dedicated volunteer for the High Holidays and an eager learner. Holly is passionate about Judaism and working with kids, and she is excited to contribute to this dynamic and fun afterschool experience.
