Jonah Potasznik was born and raised in the Washington, DC area. Following three years as a Jewish community professional in DC, he spent three years studying at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem, earning his Masters degree in Jewish education. Since graduating from Pardes, Jonah and his wife have made Canada their home, arriving in Calgary in the summer of 2020. As an educator, Jonah tries to bring the best of the traditional world of the Beit Midrash and the best of the immersive, social world of summer camp and youth group together in impactful experiences for learners of all ages. He is passionate about building Jewish community rich with real, organic connections amongst community members. He feels incredibly lucky to have tricked the universe into paying him for this holy work. When not delving into a Jewish text, Jonah loves to play banjo, toss the Frisbee and have deep philosophical discussions on the meaning of life while getting lost on this or that trail in Banff.
