Hockey Shmockey: A Shabbat Afternoon Game

We’re sharing an exciting Shabbat afternoon game of hockey! Adults (18+) are invited to drop-in after Shabbat morning services for a rousing game of street hockey in the Beth Tzedec parking lot. Our warm-up will begin promptly at 12:15pm, before game time at 12:30pm. Get ready to showcase your hockey skills, get in a little exercise and connect with your community – whether you’re a seasoned pro, a weekend warrior or an enthusiastic cheerleader.

We’re establishing a temporary eruv around the parking lot so that participants can join in despite the restrictions of the Sabbath. If you’re concerned about keeping Shabbat, feel free to bring your hockey sticks and gear, including gloves, helmets and shin pads, to the shul before Friday, July 28 at 4:00pm. With the eruv in effect, we will be able to carry equipment out of the shul and into the parking lot.
