Bimah Challenge — Shiluv Learning Club

Gather your friends or join with your child who has celebrated their B’nai Mitzvah for our intergenerational Bimah Challenge! Learn the skills to lead the service, chant Torah and Haftarah portions and earn points which you can use to fundraise for the shul, support outreach programs, or contribute to philanthropic initiatives.
Mark your calendar! Bimah Challenge participants will meet weekly on Thursdays, January 11, 18 & 25, February 1, 8, 22 & 29, March 7 & 21, April 4, 11 & 18, and May 2, 9, 16 & 23.
About the Instructors
Ari Cohen is Director of Education at Beth Tzedec. Ari Cohen learned the Shabbat services, Haftarah and Torah with Cantor Zenner during his bar mitzvah and kept up his training with Sam Wainer who has served as cantor in various orthodox synagogues in Calgary and Ontario. Ari Cohen has led services at House of Jacob and more recently and regularly here at Beth Tzedec Congregation.
Avi Meyers became Head of Judaics in 2022 and is now Vice Principal at CJA. She holds a BA in Religious Studies and a BEd in Primary/Secondary Education from York University, Toronto, as well as a Certificate of Jewish Education from the BJE in Toronto. She has worked at the CJA since September 2008 and has taught a number of grades and subjects in both Alberta and the Judaics curriculums. Avi is passionate about Judaism, Israel and Education.
