What’s Rabbi Reading? The Beth Tzedec Book Club
October 30, 2025 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Join us each month at Masala Art for lively conversation, good company, and great food as we explore Jewish literature together. The Beth Tzedec Book Club is open to all who love reading and discussing stories, history, and ideas through a Jewish lens.
Our October session will feature Forbidden: A 3,000-Year History of Jews and the Pig by Jordan D. Rosenblum. This fascinating work traces how Jewish communities across time and place have wrestled with the symbolism and meaning of the pig, offering insights into food, identity, and cultural boundaries.
Upcoming books to be considered will be:
- The Gates of Gaza – Amir Tibon
- The Madwoman in the Rabbi’s Attic: Rereading the Women of the Talmud – Gila Fine
- The Safekeep – Yael van der Wouden
- Night Owls – A. R. Vishny
- Burning Girls and Other Stories – Veronica Schanoes
- Songs for the Brokenhearted: A Novel – Ayelet Tsabari
- The Last Dekrepitzer – Howard Langer
- Melting Point – Rachel Cockerell
