Israel/USA 2026 | Director: Gidi Dar | Hebrew & Yiddish with English subtitles | 103 minutes

Comedy/Drama

Moishe Striker was once the most sought after “Badchan” (a Hasidic Jewish entertainer who MCs weddings) for Jerusalem’s most extravagant Hasidic weddings. But his personal struggles with alcohol have long since cost him both his reputation and livelihood. Now struggling to make ends meet, he is in desperate need of money to pay for his only daughter’s wedding. When his childhood best friend, who has become very wealthy while living in America, returns to Jerusalem to host a lavish wedding for his son, Moishe sees an opportunity to solve his financial woes and reclaim his former glory. This Israeli dramedy offers a rare and humorous glimpse into the Hasidic world through an entertaining and heartfelt modern-day tale of redemption, in the tradition of Sholem Aleichem and Isaac Bashevis Singer.
