Where To?

Israel/Germany 2026 | Director: Assaf Machnes | English, Arabic, German & Hebrew with English subtitles | 95 minutes

Drama

This delicate, mildly humorous, and touching drama unfolds in modern-day Berlin, where Hassan, a 55-year-old Palestinian Uber driver, shuttles night owls from one party to the next in the city’s endless nights. One night, Amir, a 25-year-old Israeli who is exploring his identity far away from home, stumbles into Hassan’s cab. Months later, their paths cross for a second time when Amir, by chance, again ends up in Hassan’s back seat. As they repeatedly share late-night rides over a two-year period, an unexpected kinship develops between them – two people who left everything behind, moved to a foreign country, and lost their way – and Hassan begins to recognize echoes of his own buried past – including the events that led him to leaving his homeland 30 years ago.
