Join us each month at Masala Art for lively conversation, good company, and great food as we explore Jewish literature together. The Beth Tzedec Book Club is open to all who love reading and discussing stories, history, and ideas through a Jewish lens.

This November, we’ll be discussing Night Owls by A. R. Vishny, an award-winning paranormal YA romance rooted in Jewish folklore. The novel follows Clara and Molly—sisters, owl-shifting estries who have survived for more than a century by following strict rules. But when Molly’s girlfriend, Anat, disappears and New York’s hidden supernatural world erupts, Clara is forced to team up with Boaz, their mysteriously curse-ridden (and annoyingly charming) theater coworker. Together, they confront demons, buried secrets, and the boundaries of love itself.

It’s a fast-paced, atmospheric read—perfect for fans of supernatural stories.
