Volunteer Action Groups at Beth Tzedec - Beth Tzedec Congregation

Join in on the fun as a volunteer and help make community happen at Beth Tzedec.

Everything that happens at Beth Tzedec happens because of the hard work of our member volunteers. If you want to get involved, we have four Volunteer Action Groups working alongside staff to create grassroots programming and community initiatives.

Tikkun Olam Action Group

The Tikkun Olam action group will spearhead Beth Tzedec’s community service and social action efforts. This could include 4-5 community service-focused events throughout the year, or longer-term projects focused on a particular social issue.

Events Action Group

The Events action group will work with Beth Tzedec staff to plan and run social events for adult congregants throughout the year. These may be fun one-off events like pub nights or kugel cook-offs, or more regular meet-ups like a book club.

Membership & Community Building

The Membership & Community Building action group will build relationships with potential and current congregants. This could include sending personal invitations to community members before select shul events, hosting new members at their home for a holiday meal or Shabbat dinner, or just being a source of connection with this wonderful community.

Bikkur Cholim – Visiting the Sick

The Bikkur Cholim action group will receive training and instruction on visiting sick members of our community in the hospital. Under the direction of our clergy, they will be tasked with sharing the spirit of Beth Tzedec with those most in need.
