Music to My Ears: The Heart’s Jewel — Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto

Talking about German violin concertos, the great Hungarian violinist Joseph Joachim said in 1905, “the most inward, the heart’s jewel, is Mendelssohn’s.” Join the Calgary Philharmonic’s concertmaster Diana Cohen as she takes you through the uniquely intimate, passionate, and melodically rich violin concerto by Felix Mendelssohn.
Ahead of her solo performance with the Calgary Philharmonic, Diana will play excerpts of the concerto and share with us the mystery and beauty of this popular gem of the romantic repertoire. We would be delighted if you joined us for this special event, hosted at Temple B’nai Tikvah.
