[Cancelled] Hockey Shmockey

Unfortunately, the Saturday, August 26 session of Hockey Shmockey has been cancelled. We hope to see you at our next session on Saturday, September 2.

We’re sharing an exciting Shabbat afternoon game of hockey! Teens and adults (12+) are invited to join us after Shabbat morning services for a rousing game of street hockey in the Beth Tzedec parking lot. Get ready to showcase your hockey skills, get in a little exercise and connect with your community – whether you’re a seasoned pro, a weekend warrior or an enthusiastic cheerleader.

We’re establishing a temporary eruv around the parking lot so that participants can join in despite the restrictions of the Sabbath. If you’re concerned about keeping Shabbat, feel free to bring your hockey sticks and gear, including gloves, helmets and shin pads, to the shul before Friday at 4:00pm. With the eruv in effect, we will be able to carry equipment out of the shul and into the parking lot.

Note: Safety is of utmost importance, so we encourage everyone to play responsibly and follow any guidelines set by the organizers. All adult participants – and parents of minor participants – will be asked to sign this liability waiver before the game.
