Hazak Lunch & Learn: Tikkun Olam and Human Trafficking

Knowledge is the first step in taking action. Join us as we take that first step together as part of the mitzvah of Pidyon Shevuyim, the Redemption of the Captive, as Marni Besser discusses tikkun olam and human trafficking. We will learn about the state of modern slavery – in Canada and here in Calgary – and our obligations as Jews to fight against this horror.
Marni Besser has been combating human trafficking since 2009. She has links with many non-profit agencies, government officials and law enforcement individuals who fight modern day slavery. She will help us understand how Jewish values link to understanding the reality of human trafficking.
