Book Club at the Point Pub
October 30, 2024 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Join Us for Learning and Philosophy at the The Point Pub!
On the last Wednesday of (nearly) every month, Beth Tzedec invites you to The Point Public House for a night of engaging conversation and learning. Enjoy a drink and some food while delving into the Tanach from a philosophical perspective through the works of Leon Kass and Rabbi Jonathan Sacks.
Over seven months, we’ll explore three profound books, led in discussion by Ari Cohen. We’ll start with Rabbi Jonathan Sacks’ Morality: Restoring the Common Good in Divided Times, followed by Leon Kass’ The Beginning of Wisdom: Reading Genesis and Founding God’s Nation: Reading Exodus, where Kass offers a secular philosophical perspective, revealing new depths of wisdom in the Tanach.
First round is on us, but bring money for your own drinks afterward (YPYOB – You Pay Your Own Booze). Join us for a thought-provoking and enjoyable experience each month!
Mark your calendar! We’ll be meeting on Wednesdays, October 30, December 4, January 29, March 12 & May 28. Please join the first session ready to discuss Morality: Restoring the Common Good in Divided Times.
Register in advance so we know how many seats we’ll need.
